Network configuration
The PFBucket desktop app requires a temporary internet connection to The Pixel Farm's servers in order to activate or otherwise manage your entitlements, download application installers, or contact Administration Support.
This is achieved using the following URLs, which must be accessible from the machine where you have installed the PFBucket desktop app:
Destination | Port |
---|---|
https://services-thepixelfarm.uk | 443 |
https://pfaccount-thepixelfarm.co.uk | 443 |
Network Proxy Servers
If you are communicating with The Pixel Farm's servers through a network proxy, you can enter the username and password for your proxy server when launching the PFBucket desktop app:
Please note that PFBucket does not support network proxies between the desktop app and the PFBucketd server, only between the desktop app and The Pixel Farm's servers listed above.
MPAA Content Security Program Compliance
The PFBucketd server daemon does not require any internet connection to serve entitlements to client workstations. However, when running the PFBucket desktop application (for example, on an IT administrator's machine) an internet connection is required to communicate with The Pixel Farm's servers for tasks such as activating new product entitlements, releasing old entitlements, or managing support tickets.
In alignment with the MPAA Content Security Best Practices Common Guidelines on network infrastructure (available for download at https://www.mpaa.org/what-we-do/advancing-creativity/additional-resources), if your PFBucket desktop application is installed on a machine without a permanent internet connection, incoming and outgoing network requests should be temporarily enabled for the following destinations:
Destination | Port |
---|---|
https://services-thepixelfarm.uk | 443 |
https://pfaccount-thepixelfarm.co.uk | 443 |
Once entitlement management or support access is completed and the PFBucket desktop application is closed, no additional communication with The Pixel Farm's servers is required.
