Upgrading your server hardware
PFBucketd requires a unique hardware identifier to activate your entitlements. This HostID is an automatically generated twelve-digit code that is associated with your entitlements as they are activated on your server.
If you upgrade your server hardware, in particular your network interface controllers, then this may cause your HostID to change and prevent your entitlements from being used.
To avoid any problems whilst upgrading your server hardware, we recommend the following steps:
- Before upgrading, deactivate all your entitlements by clicking the Deactivate All button.
- Apply any upgrades you need to your server hardware
- Log in to your PFBucketd server and re-activate your entitlements using the Activate All button.
This will ensure the PFHostID associated with your entitlements reflects any changes in your server hardware.
