Export
The Export section controls various aspects of clip export with the File Out node.
Default Export Directory:
The default directory where exports are written to.
Default value: project:/export
, i.e. in the export
sub-directory of the project.
Default Format:
The default image file format used to export clips.
Default value: TIF.
Default QuickTime Codec:
On macOS, the default QuickTime codec used to export clips (only active if QuickTime is chosen as the Default Format above).
Default value: depends on what codecs are installed on your system.
Default QuickTime Quality:
On macOS, the default QuickTime codec quality used to export clips (only active if QuickTime is chosen as the Default Format above).
Default value: Normal.
Default Media Foundation bit-rate:
On Windows, this option is available to select the default bit-rate for exporting Media Foundation files.
Default colour space:
This option can be used to specify a default OpenColorIO profile for newly created File Out nodes. By default, this is set to Pass Through which means no colour conversion will be performed when exporting clips.
Default number padding:
The default amount of padding in the filename's frame number when exporting.
Default value: 4.
Export DPX without alpha:
When selected, DPX sequences are exported without an alpha channel, when un-ticked an alpha channel is present.
Default value: selected.
Export Source Header:
When selected, as much header information as possible is preserved when a clip is exported, including internal low-level fields such as the offsets to the image data in the case of DPX files. Else, some of the internal header information, such as the offsets, may be lost but never important external fields such as timecode and keycode.
Default value: not selected.
Export Clip Info File:
When selected, an XML formatted file is written out which details information about the exported clip. This file is written to the same directory as the exported clip, has the same name as the clip with a .xml
file extension. The purpose of this information file is to aid integration with other systems.
Default value: not selected.
Export Summary Info File:
When selected, a summary file is written out to the export path directory detailing information about the exported clips. The purpose of this file is to provide a convenient report of exported clips and/or to aid integration with other systems. The format and contents of the summary file are controlled by the various checkboxes and pulldowns.
The different formats of summary file currently supported are: XML, XLSX (Office Open XML Spreadsheet file), and HTML. The XML format file is intended to as human-readable and self-explanatory as possible. The only field that needs explanation is the "thumbnail" tag. The data in this field is a base-64 encoding of a PNG image.
Default value: not selected.
Preserve Hard Links on export:
When selected, File Out preserves the original inode number of the source file. This is useful when overwriting images on export which are referenced by other applications by means of a hard link.
Disabling this option will result in a new inode number being assigned to the exported file, breaking any hard links.
Default value: not selected.
