Project commands
Project commands
The 5 commands related to creating and loading projects are:
-new_project /path/to/project/directory
-new_project_params /path/project /path/params.xml
-load_project /path/to/project/file
-load_or_new_project /full/path/to/project/file
-load_or_new_project_params /full/path/to/project/file /full/path/to/params.xml
-new_project
creates a new project at the named location using default parameters. These default parameters are:
frame rate= 24
drop frame= false
pixel aspect ratio= 1.0
colour space= linear
defect map= none
deinterlace= none
to create a project with anything other than these defaults use the -new_project_params
command which, as well as taking the location of the project to create, takes the location of an XML file which describes the project parameters. This XML file is defined thus:
<project>
<fps>30</fps>
<dropFrame>true</dropFrame>
<pixelAspect>1.094</pixelAspect>
<colourSpace>1</colourSpace>
<defectMap>2</defectMap>
<deinterlace>3</deinterlace>
</project>
If a parameters is not specified in the XML file then it takes the default value described above. So, for example, if you wished to just override the default colour space you could use the XML file:
<project>
<colourSpace>1</colourSpace>
</project>
Colour space, defect map and deinterlace are specified as integers where:
Colour space:
linear=0
,log=1
Defect map:
none=0
,white=1
,black=2
Deinterlace:
none=0
,replicate even=1
,replicate odd=2
,interpolate even=3
,interpolate odd=4
,blend=5
,motion interpolated=6
,field separated (upper first)=9
,field separated (lower first)=10
,3:2 pulldown (WSSWW)=11
,3:2 pulldown (SSWWW)=12
,3:2 pulldown (SWWWS)=13
,3:2 pulldown (WWWSS)=14
,3:2 pulldown (WWSSW)=15
.
To load in an existing project use the -load_project
command specifying the full path to the project file (the .pfrp
file).
The -load_or_new_project
commands will load the specified project file if it exists or create the project if it doesn't already exist. Note that unlike -new_project
, -load_or_new_project
takes the filename, not path, of the project that will be created if applicable.
If no new or load project command is specified then the last used project is automatically loaded.
