Managing Entitlements
The Entitlements tab lets you manage your entitlements on your PFBucket server. If you haven't done so already, you must place your entitlements in your bucket. Further information how to do this is available on the Bucket Management page.
The Entitlements Table
The product entitlements in your bucket are listed in a single table, with the following columns:
ID - this shows the unique ID for each of your product entitlements.
Product - this shows the product the entitlement is for.
Entitlement - this column shows whether the entitlement is Permanent or Flexible.
Period - for flexible entitlements, this shows how long remains before the entitlement expires.
Information - this shows important information about the entitlement, including whether the token needs activating or resyncing on your server, or the expiry date of your maintenance or flexible entitlements.
Action - this column contains buttons that can be used to Activate, Resync or Deactivate entitlements on your PFBucket server. Please note that these actions are only available for the entitlements in the bucket that you have logged in to.
In Use - this column indicates whether an entitlement in your bucket is currently in use on a client workstation. When an entitlement is in use, you can hover the mouse over the indicator and get further information about the name and IP address of the client workstation.
Activating Entitlements
When first logging in to your bucket, you will see that the entitlements in your bucket need activating. You can activate each entitlement individually if you wish by clicking the 'Activate' button in the Action column, or you can activate them all together by clicking the 'Activate All' button:
As each entitlement is activated, you will see information about the maintenance or entitlement expiry date in the 'Information' column:
The 'Refresh' button can be used to refresh the list of entitlements and ensure it is up to date.
Resyncing Entitlements
When you log in, the PFBucket desktop app checks that the entitlement tokens on your PFBucket server are correctly installed and up-to-date. If this is not the case, the entitlement tokens will need resyncing, as shown in the Information column in the entitlement table:
This can happen for several reasons, most notably:
You have renewed a maintenance subscription for a permanent product entitlement
The entitlement tokens are no longer present on your PFBucketd server (for example, after re-installing your operating system).
To resync an entitlement, just click the 'Resync' button in the Action column, click the 'Resync All' button if it is available. This will re-download your tokens and store them on your server.
Deactivating Entitlements
If you wish to move your PFBucket server to another machine, or move individual entitlements into another bucket for use elsewhere, you can click the 'Deactivate' button in the Action column, or the 'Deactivate All' button:
This will deactivate the entitlement and remove the entitlement token from your server. Once an entitlement is deactivated, it cannot be used by a client workstation to run an application until it is activated again.
Once all entitlements are deactivated, you can log out of your server. If you wish to activate your entitlements on another server, just log in to your bucket on your new machine and activate the entitlements again.
