Project Manager
All work carried out in PFTrack occurs within a project, and a project must be open before any of the application's features are accessible. The project folder stores all the information related to the clips that have been loaded and the nodes that have been created. All loaded media is referenced externally and is not copied into the project folder.
A project is structured on disk as a directory containing a number of files and sub-directories. Projects can become large in size and benefit from rapid disk access, so make sure they are stored on a fast disk with plenty of free space.
PFTrack will save the project automatically as required. When PFTrack starts, it will automatically load the last used project, if one is available. If not, the Project Manager will be displayed.
Overview
The Project Manager is composed of several sections: The central console (1) displays controls to interact with a project. The list of available projects (2) is shown at the sides of the central console with an icon illustrating the project media.
Useful information about the open project is displayed above (3), including disk usage and notes, and the media contained in the project is shown at the top of the window (4).
Once a project is loaded, the Project Manager can be displayed at any time by clicking the Project Manager button (5).
Creating a new project
When PFTrack is launched for the first time, no projects will be available. To create a project, click the Create Project button (6).
This will open the project name and path edit boxes (7) where the project can be named, and the location where the project will be saved on disk can be entered. To browse for a directory to save the project, click the Browse button (...) next to the path.
Once the project has been named, and a suitable path entered, click the Confirm button (8) to create the project.
PFTrack will automatically switch into the Workspace view where you can start work on your project.

Old projects
Due to significant structural changes to PFTrack, projects created with older versions of the software (2018 and earlier) are no longer compatible and cannot be loaded.
